What does 3KG stand for? This is one of the most frequently asked questions since we started working in 2001. The average weight of newborn babies are approximately 3 kg in Japan. This is where our name came from. We were one of new born babies full of curiosity.

We started as a collective of three graphic designers and simply followed our own interests. We have been working on wide variety of fields such as graphics, fonts, web and moving images. After a few years working as graphic design studio, we joined D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT to widen our perspective on design and opened a furniture shop in Sapporo.

Sapporo is famous for 1972 winter olympics, its annual snow festival or the beer. Less cultural things are going on compared to capital cities. However, we enjoy working at our hometown. Thinking globally, acting locally or thinking locally, acting globally whichever.
